Tested Clean for Heavy Metals
At Pure Kombucha, we take product safety and quality seriously. That’s why we continue to invest in independent laboratory testing with SGS, a globally trusted name in food testing.
We tested our kombucha for heavy metals commonly monitored in beverages:
- Arsenic (As): Not Detected (N.D.)
Limit of Qualification: 0.01 mg/kg
- Lead (Pb): Not Detected (N.D.)
Limit of Qualification: 0.005 mg/kg
- Copper (Cu): Not Detected
Limit of Qualification: 0.2 mg/kg
These results are well below typical regulatory limits in major markets like the EU and UK, giving you extra confidence in every bottle. You can view the full SGS Test Report here.

Why Test for Heavy Metals?
Heavy metals such as arsenic and lead can occasionally enter the food chain through soil, water, or processing equipment. While kombucha is a naturally fermented drink, we want to ensure our ingredients and final product stay as clean as possible. Our kombucha passed with flying colours — all three metals were “Not Detected” at highly sensitive detection levels. This confirms our careful sourcing and production processes are working effectively.
We insist to use only premium ingredients which, to our knowledge, are ethical sources, including independent tea/ herb farmers/ farms of single origin, not just to keep their authenticity to avoid the risk of cross- contamination. The strict quality controls secure your supports to our high quality kombucha for its live cultures, refreshing taste, or as a better-for-you alternative, knowing it’s tested clean for contaminants adds real peace of mind.
